News: All Field Trip permission slips have been returned! We are preparing the lists for who will be riding in which car. Thanks to all the parents who signed up to drive! We will be leaving right after Ash Wednesday Mass on Wednesday, February 25, 2009!

Reminders:

Every Tuesday is Physical Education. Please remember to pack the physical education uniform and tennis shoes. If the students want to wear the physical education uniform home, they need to have sweatpants, also!
Spelling Tests are every Friday in Mrs. French's room unless the students are told of a change in the date. Students copy the words every Monday into their assignment pads to help prepare for the test!
When we begin a new unit in Math, a parent letter comes home detailing the unit. This letter also announces any fact quizzes the students will have for the unit. Parents, if you are not receiving these letters, please let me know!

Upcoming Events:

Third Quarter Midterms were sent home February 18, 2009! Please return the signed midterms by Tuesday, February 24, 2009!
Planetarium Field Trip: Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. We will be leaving school right after Ash Wednesday Mass!
Remember the Ladies Field Trip: Wednesday, March 18, 2009! More details will be sent home soon!

We Are Working On.....

Religion

The students completed an open-book quiz and activity worksheet today! Next week we will review this sacrament further!
Service Journals for February are due on Thursday, February 26! Students may already be completing their service activities for the journals!

Math

5th Grade: We began to look closely at probability by beginning work on our Flipping Two Coins lab!
4th Grade: We concluded our Portfolio review today! We will begin Unit 9 and a discussion of Geometry tomorrow!

Science

We reviewed Lesson 2 today!

Social Studies

The students continued to study of the Atlantic Coast and Appalachian states!

Reading, Spelling, and English are focusing on the lessons related to the story, "Memory Box" and the skill of author's purpose this week.

HOMEWORK-FOR FEBRUARY 19TH!

MATH-Fifth Grade: page 263 #1 & 2 on a correctly headed paper!
Fourth Grade: DAB page 88 (all).

RELIGION: Service Journals are due on Thursday, February 26. Students are required to complete three journal entries this month. FOR TODAY, STUDENTS NEED TO COMPLETE THE OPEN BOOK QUIZ AND DOUBLE-SIDED REVIEW WORKSHEET!

Students had 20-25 minutes of class time to begin homework so they should just be finishing work!
